In case you haven’t heard, we now have ownership o

In case you haven’t heard, we now have ownership over our big eastern Washington cruelty case!
These little goat kids are called Lamanchas, and they have been at CVAR since April. They arrived in the middle of the night, many of them in critical condition. Over the last 6 months we’ve treated them for internal parasites and severe emaciation. One little goat even had to have an eye removed. Now they are just waiting for one more test result before they can be adopted out!
We would love to start getting some forever homes lined up for them. They are all bottle babies and so they absolutely love human attention and are the perfect supervisors for any activity! The biggest problem is that they’re all too cute to just pick one or two! Apply to adopt them on our website!

This is Esme (brown) and Bella (white), two of our cruelty case llamas from Forks. These two girls are the perfect pair who are looking for new pastures to call home!
Esme has a graceful personality and is calm around people. She is very curious and has lush, beautiful fiber perfect for spinning or composting! She is a very elegant llama and loves to sun bathe! Bella on the other hand is a total goofball! She has lots of energy and has a huge personality! She too has gorgeous fiber…what’s not to love?
Both of these girls are currently being housed with sheep, pigs and an emu. They came from a large cruelty case and are used to being with another llama, so would do best being adopted out together or with another llama buddy.
Apply to adopt them via our adoption application on our website!

It’s been 5 months since we took in 44 animals from a cruelty case in Eastern Washington. These animals arrived in the middle of the night in critical condition. From then on it was all hands on deck! Medical treatments started immediately and now this group is looking pretty spiffy!
Unfortunately, it is just all too common for livestock to become victims of animal cruelty. We still can’t release all of the details due to the nature of how this case is being processed legally, but we can say that we are so thankful to be able to give these animals a second chance.
Thank you to all the volunteers who have spent extra hours helping our staff with preparing bottles and other feed, and mucking out countless stalls! We really couldn’t do it without all the community support. Can’t physically volunteer? Considering donating to help support their ongoing medical expenses!

They will all be up for adoption soon, so keep your eyes out for adoption updates! 🐾

Black cat appreciation day! 🖤 CVAR is home to so

Black cat appreciation day! 🖤
CVAR is home to so many beautiful black and black/white cats, and they’re all still searching for their forever homes. We lovingly call them our little panthers and voids! With their sleek coats, vibrant eyes, and incredible personalities, what’s not to love??
🐈‍⬛ In Japan, black cats are considered symbols of good fortune, financial blessings, and the possibility of true love nearby.
🐈‍⬛ European sailors once considered black cats good luck and would even bring them aboard their ships!
And our CVAR panthers come in every personality imaginable! Some have special needs, some are seniors, some are young and playful, and some are professional cuddle buddies. Others are shy and simply need a quiet, patient home where they can decompress and learn to trust.
Whatever kind of cat you’re looking for, there may be a little void waiting for you! These sweeties often have a harder time being adopted simply due to the stigma of being “bad luck”. Help us change that luck for these sweet feline friends!
Apply to adopt at the following link!

This little seal pup was found at Camp Parson in B

This little seal pup was found at Camp Parson in Brinnon after approaching kayakers with no mom in sight. Thankfully, the finders knew exactly what to do and called us before taking any action or interacting with the pup.
We responded and brought this little one into care. We work closely with the Marine Mammal Stranding Network and were able to quickly transfer this pup, along with another seal pup who had been attacked by a dog, to SR3 after initial feedings and stabilization.
In both cases, these pups were likely separated from their moms because of activity and disturbances on the beach. If you see a seal pup, please give it the space it needs! Keep pets and children far away and do not approach, touch, or move the pup. Mom may be nearby and waiting for the beach to quiet down so she can return. It is so important to keep dogs leashed on beaches, especially around this time of year!
If you’re concerned that a pup may need help, contact the Marine Mammal Stranding Network or your local marine mammal rehabilitation center FIRST. Trained responders can determine whether intervention is needed.
A huge thank you to the wonderful people who found this pup and did everything right, and giving us permission to post your selfies! And thank you to SR3 for the continued care of these little ones. 🦭

Pop goes the Weasel!
This little guy is a long-tailed weasel that has been in care for the last month and a half. This guy was found by construction workers after accidentally being trapped in a wall.
Weasels have fast metabolisms and are always eating! Since this little one was trapped in a wall without his mom, he was not being fed for an entire weekend!
Skinny and dehydrated, this weasel made his was to CVAR where he received immediate specialized care. Now, he is exactly where he is supposed to be! We love weasel releases!

Yesterday marks another successful spay and neuter

Yesterday marks another successful spay and neuter clinic at CVAR! We couldn’t have done it without all of our amazing volunteers and pet parents who took initiative to get their animals fixed! Thank you to everyone!
In addition to the public’s pets, we also spent the evening getting some of our new intakes fixed as well. Stay tuned as they become available for adoption! There are some cuties that the staff adores! They will all find homes fast!
If you are curious to learn more or sign up for future spay neuter clinics, click the link below to our website! 🐾

Forever home needed! 🐾
Meet Kora! This sweet, medium sized husky came to CVAR back in December and is still searching for a family who can keep up with her! Since she is a young, husky mix she has lots of energy! She enjoys walking and running and is working very hard on her leash manners. She thrives on consistency! This pup is very intelligent as well. Her favorite activities involve dog chews or other chew toys, and these would be a must for her new home!
Kora is fixed, up to date on all vaccinations and deworming, and microchipped. If you’re interested in adoption then please go to our adoption application and apply to adopt today!

It’s been a busy few days with calls about strande

It’s been a busy few days with calls about stranded baby seal pups. We work closely with the Marine Stranding Network to ensure these young animals receive the care they need.
We had two pups that arrived just one day apart. Both were assessed, stabilized, and transferred to SR3, where they specialize in marine mammal rehabilitation.
The pups will remain in SR3’s care until they are healthy, strong, and ready to be released back into the wild!
Remember! If you encounter a seal pup on the beach, keep your distance, and keep pets and kids away to give mom enough space to come back.
A huge thank you to SR3 for the continued care! We look forward to seeing them return to the ocean when they’re ready! 🦭

Who can imitate a raccoon the best? The raccoons

Who can imitate a raccoon the best?
The raccoons in our care are growing up quickly! Sadly, many of these little ones arrived after losing their parents to vehicle strikes, shootings, or other circumstances that left them orphaned.
As you’re out and about, please slow down on the roads and stay alert for wildlife, especially during baby season. A little extra caution can be life saving!
If you come across a raccoon kit alone, please don’t assume it has been abandoned. Contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for guidance before intervening. In many cases, the mother is nearby and may return for her baby if given the chance.
While baby raccoons may look adorable, they do not make good pets. They are wild animals with needs that can’t be met in a home. The best place for a healthy raccoon is in the wild, where they belong!
These raccoons will continue to be in care until they are big enough for release! Please help support us this wildlife season at the following link!
Bonus points for guessing who the licensed wildlife rehabilitator is!

We have 3 coyotes in care right now, and they have just moved out to their large outdoor enclosure. They loved the enrichment and logs! Please enjoy a few short clips of them exploring!
*disclaimer* there was no person attached to this camera! We work hard to make sure wildlife stays wild! This means the least amount of human interactions as possible!
We are so excited that this group is doing well! If you’d like to donate to their care, please do so at the following link!

Happy Feline Friday! 🐈‍⬛ Walker and Jackson, thes

Happy Feline Friday! 🐈‍⬛
Walker and Jackson, these two beautiful brothers, are STILL up for adoption! These two are the first to greet you when you walk into the cat rooms, love to sunbathe, cuddle, and run on the cat wheel! They are the perfect mix of kitten energy and cuddly love bugs.
We absolutely love when people want to take on the medically needy, grumpy or shy cats. It truly warms our hearts when these cats find homes. However, these two have been passed up multiple times because “they’re kittens and will find homes quickly”. This unfortunately isn’t always the case for all black cats due to century’s of taboos associated with them.
Did you know? Black cats are actually considered lucky in many places! In Japan, they are thought to bring prosperity and positive outcomes (especially for single women!)
Please spread the word for these two cuties! We love having them around, but they deserve their own home and people who love them as much as us!

We post a lot about our cats and dogs, but did you know we also have Reptiles for adoption?
We wanted to spotlight Bella today! Bella, like most of our domestic animals, came from a cruelty case and has since found refuge at CVAR. She is having a “hot girl summer” and is ready to find her family this summer! She lives with her buddy Edward, another Leopard Gecko and they spend their days sunbathing and watching the world go by! They each have a favorite sleeping spot in their tank (they do not share their sleeping spots!) They are so fun to watch, and provide a nice atmosphere of company in any room they’re in!

Meet Amber! 🐈‍⬛
Amber is an adoptable, very sweet grey kitty who has been looking for a home for almost exactly 1 year now! She came from a cruelty case and is one of the last cats from this case. She has been adopted once and unfortunately returned for being “too playful”. She gets along great with other cats, and loves to play! She would also would make the perfect cuddle buddy! If you have a window that gets sunshine, and lots of love, then this cat is for you! She absolutely loves to sunbathe (who doesn’t??)
Please apply to adopt at the following link! Let’s get this girl a home!

Meet our newest wildlife patient! This little otte

Meet our newest wildlife patient! This little otter pup was found weak, dehydrated and all alone in the middle of the road. He was picked up by a passerby, and transferred to CVAR yesterday where he quickly received care.
Even though he was very weak, he was still feisty for his initial exam and treatments. It is amazing how resilient wildlife is. This is an important reminder to everyone how even the sickest, most debilitated wildlife are still wild!
This little pup will be monitored closely by our team here at CVAR, but we are optimistic for his recovery!
Please help donate to his care and others at the following link! Thank you!

Meet Mango! 🥭 Mango is a beautiful Yellow-Headed

Meet Mango! 🥭
Mango is a beautiful Yellow-Headed Amazon who resembles an almost ripe mango, hence the name! Though initially shy, this sweet parrot is slowly coming out of their shell and revealing a charming personality. Mango is endlessly curious about the world and watches the going abouts at the rescue from the safety of their perch. They like to hang upside down when they are in a silly mood, and absolutely LOVES orange slices!
Mango is becoming more confident in their surroundings and is starting to softly “coo” at passerby. Sometimes, this “coo” sounds like chickens, as that is who Mango talked to while going through their quarantining period! So cute!
Mango likes taking things at their own pace and is looking for a dedicated and experienced adopter. Their ideal adopter is one who understands Amazon body language and can provide confident, gentle leadership. Mango tends to do best in a peaceful space where they can observe their humans and build trust at their own speed.
We know Mango will provide years of joyous companionship to the right individual. If you think that could be you, apply today!

Our interns spent the day sprucing up our outdoor

Our interns spent the day sprucing up our outdoor enclosures and they look amazing! Every year, fresh new logs and branches get added to provide more natural habitat and enrichment for our animals going through rehabilitation. 🌲
It’s so important for them, especially our animals raised in care. It is essential for them to stay wild and learn how to hunt, climb and hide on their own. Sometimes, the enrichment is a little too good and they find creative hiding spots. This little opossum found the perfect spot and took awhile for our staff to find in the enclosure.
This little opossums mom was killed by a vehicle, and he wouldn’t have made it on his own without rehabilitation care. Consider donating using the link below to help with rehabilitation costs!

Sponsor a fawn this 2026 season! CVAR is the onl

Sponsor a fawn this 2026 season!
CVAR is the only wildlife rehabilitation facility in region 6 that is licensed and equipped to care for orphaned and injured fawns. This year, we are prepared to take in up to 10 fawns. Each fawn can cost up to $3,000 to raise each year, and many come from human caused interactions. The youngest require around the clock care in their first couple weeks of life. From there, they transition to a large outdoor enclosure where they learn to be a deer! Black tailed deer are an influential species on the peninsula and help share plant communities, carnivores species and scavengers.
Right now, we are building a new fawn enclosure and we need our communities help! Please read more about fawns, and our enclosure at our go fund me link. If you can’t donate, please share the link! 🦌
